Coinciding with the World Heart Day, Al Sharq Hospital organized a medical awareness campaign at the Punitive and Correctional Institution – Fujairah, on Sunday 29th Sept 2019. Our ICU specialist, Dr. Mahmoud Hamed, presented an awareness lecture to the inmates of Punitive and Correctional Institution about cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke. In addition, the hospital medical team conducted free medical checkups for the inmates, which included: Blood Sugar checkup, Blood Pressure and BMI measurement. The aim of this awareness campaign is to identify the risk factors for cardiovascular disease, and the importance of regular medical checkups.
